10 largest municipalities
Only Sarajevo and Banja Luka have more than 200,000 inhabitants (according to the last census in 1991). Current estimates[clarification needed] include Tuzla, Bijeljina and Zenica in this list, however neither had reached the population of 150,000 in 1991. Due to massive migrations during the 1992-1995 war and lack of a state-wide official census, it is almost impossible to determine the current population in Bosnia, and the estimates are often exaggerated for political purposes, or local rivalries.
