Jamame, also spelt Jamaame or Giamame and known in Italian as Margherita, is a densely populated town in southern Somalia.

Overview

Jamame is situated in the Jubbada Hoose region. It lies between the Indian Ocean in the east, the agricultural land along the Jubba river in the west, and in the south, the port city of Kismayo.

Demographics

Jamame is inhabited by various Somali clans, as well as many residents from the Bantu minority ethnic group, the latter of whom live and work as farmers along the Jubba river.
