Siuna is a municipality in the Región Autónoma del Atlántico Norte department of Nicaragua.
The town of Siuna was the site of several mines operated by foreign corporations in the past. Some of the water in the region is contaminated because of this mining.
The town of the Siuna has a campus of URACCAN (Universidad de las Regiones Autónomas de la Costa Caribe Nicaragüense).
