Chambarak (Azerbaijani:Çəmbərək also Romanized as Jambarak; until 1920, Mikhaylovka, from 1920-1972, Karmir Gyugh, from 1972-1991, Krasnoye, Krasnosel’sk, Krasnosyelsk, and Kraside) is a town in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. Chambarak was founded in 1835-40 on the Getik River by Russian immigrants, with the name Mikhaylovka. Karmir Gyugh and Krasnosyelsk both mean "Red Village" in Armenian and Russian, respectively. There are some 13th century khachkars in the town.

Population

The great majority of the rural population were Azeris until Armenian agression in 1988.
